This week’s schedule (Jul 28 – Aug 04)

Here’s this week’s schedule:

    • Tuesday, from 07:15PM Splat Space Open Meeting:
Open Meetings on Tuesdays include member show & tell, project updates, and calls for collaborative hacking from 7pm-8pm. By 8:00pm, the meeting will break and everyone is free to mingle, work on projects, and get to know fellow hackers.

      How to get here: http://splatspace.org/location/

We’re in the basement below Beyu Caffe @ 331 W. Main St. Parking behind the building on Ramseur St — there is plenty of parking and it’s free on weekends and/or as long as you exit the lot after 7pm.

    • Saturday, from 01:00PM Meet the ShapeOko CNC Mill:

Come to the Splatspace Fabrication Annex (right down the hall from the main Splatspace meeting room) to learn how to use the ShapeOko mill that we just won from Inventables.

We will have 20 blank bottle opener kits on hand, ready to be custom-engraved with your design. (If you want to try out the bottle openers, you’ll have to bring your own bottles to open: BYOB.)

We will also have some computers available and people to help you out with the design work.

Note that the actual milling is taking place in the Annex, down the hall from the main Space. Starting at 2 there will be a Chromebook meetup in the main Space.

Durham LUGo

  • Saturday, from 02:00PM Durham LUG Meetup – Presentation on Google Chromebooks + Meet & Greet:
At this Meetup a presentation will be given about Google Chromebooks, and afterwards there will be time to meet other members, and discuss your passion about GNU/Linux!

The presentation will go over ChromeOS, and the various ways to install a full blown GNU/Linux distribution on them. We will cover popular Linux distributions known to run well, and what type of performance can be expected.

We hope to see you out!
